Black dot Saturday on the Autostrade Alto Adriatico network

Heavy traffic as early as this morning

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 10 AGO - The return of good weather expected for the entire Ferragosto (mid-August) holiday season is encouraging the arrival of thousands of tourists to the seaside resorts of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto as well as the passage of vacationers heading across the border to the coasts of Slovenia and Croatia. Added to these is the rush of commuters who, on the other hand, last Saturday (the first day of the great exodus) were not queued up to reach the sea because of bad weather conditions. The combination of factors is affecting traffic along Autostrade Alto Adriatico's network as early as today's morning (marked with a red dot) and will be even more so especially on Saturday, August 12, which will be characterized until late afternoon by black dot traffic. Traffic in these hours is particularly heavy in the direction of Trieste with queues at times between Meolo and Palmanova; queues that could continue until late afternoon near the construction sites for the construction of the third lane and exiting at the Trieste Lisert barrier. For tomorrow (red dot) until late in the evening, there will be a continuous flow of tourists to the seaside resorts especially towards Trieste with possible queues even at the Lisert barrier. It is a kind of anticipation of what will happen the following day, Saturday 12, when Autostrade Alto Adriatico expects the transit of about 200 thousand vehicles. At the Trieste/Lisert barrier 27 thousand vehicles are expected to pass, at Villesse and Latisana about 16 thousand, and at San Donà more than 9 thousand.Sunday, August 13, will be a red dot day with transits expected to settle near 160 thousand, while by Tuesday, August 15, traffic is expected to drop to 120/130 thousand.
