Weekend of heavy traffic along Alto Adriatico highways

Returning in mass continues; the black dot is expected Saturday

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 25 AGO - The network managed by Autostrade Alto Adriatico will be affected by a weekend of heavy traffic.
In the second weekend of the vacationers' mass returning, about 183 thousand vehicles are expected to pass through the network tomorrow, a day marked with a black dot, and almost 166 thousand on Sunday (red dot).
Therefore - the concessionaire warns - tomorrow on the A4, in the direction of Venice, for the entire day, there will be heavy traffic with potential congestion and queues near the junctions toward the seaside resorts, near the sites for the construction of the third lane and at the entrance to the barrier of Trieste Lisert. In particular, at the barrier, about 28 thousand vacationers are expected to enter, as they did last Saturday, returning from the Croatian coast and the countries of Northeast Europe; 13 thousand instead are expected to enter the Latisana toll booth.
On the same day, there will be heavy traffic toward Trieste, with potential congestion and queues at the junctions toward the seaside resorts (16 thousand vehicles expected at Latisana) and at the Trieste Lisert barrier exit due to the last departures of tourists toward vacation destinations.
Heavy traffic is also expected in the afternoon on the A23 Palmanova-Udine, toward Palmanova, and on the A28 Portogruaro-Conegliano, on the southbound carriageway with possible queues at the Portogruaro junction.
On Sunday, Autostrade Alto Adriatico predicts that flows should decrease slightly, with potential traffic jams still at the Lisert entrance and the Latisana toll booth exit and entrance. (ANSA).
