(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 29 NOV - A "multisensory journey," as the
organizers call it, among local gastronomic productions to
discover the history and culture of Karst, Friuli, Istria and
the Balkans: Farmer & Artist, the food and wine event that on
Dec. 2 at the Covered Market, will bring together 40 farmers,
masters of good and sustainable food, is back.
For Serena Tonel, deputy mayor of Trieste and councillor for
Economic Activities, "Farmer & Artists will be a good vehicle
for promoting the products of the food chain of the Trieste area
but also of the regional one."
David Pizziga, president of GAL Carso - LAS Kras works "to
reunite Trieste with its historic countryside, made up not only
of Carso, but also of Istria, Friuli, the Balkans and, hopefully
soon, Austria."Raoul Tiraboschi, vice-president of Slow Food
Italy believes that "local food policies, in the relationship
between cities and peri-urban areas, are developing rapidly in
many cities in Italy, putting the relationship between
citizenship and food back at the center.Farmer & Artist
represents an important first step to build together a local
food policy that enhances short supply chains with low
environmental impact." (ANSA).
