(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 27 MAR - Heavy traffic is expected along
the A4 Venice-Trieste highway for the Easter holidays. Eyes will
primarily focus on those returning from their vacations when, in
addition to vacationers, tractor-trailers from Central and
Eastern Europe will resume their journey.
According to Autostrade Alto Adriatico forecasts, the most
critical days for travelers will be April 2 and 3, with 'red dot
traffic' on the route towards Venice.
The freeway authority reports an increase in vehicle flows
starting tomorrow morning along the A4 in the direction of
Trieste and, from the afternoon, along the route to Venice. This
is due to the start of the Easter vacations following the school
calendar, the first returns to Central and Eastern Europe of
foreign workers, and the mini exodus of tourists to the large
cities of northern Italy. Flows will also remain strong
throughout the day on Friday and Saturday afternoon, especially
in the direction of Trieste. According to forecasts, on Easter
Day, there will be a drastic decrease in traffic, which will
resume especially from Monday afternoon.
The most critical day will be Tuesday, when, starting in the
afternoon, heavy vehicles will resume their journeys in addition
to tourists.
Queues will be possible at the entrance to the Trieste Lisert
barrier and near the construction sites for the third lane near
Portogruaro. Queues near the construction site will also be
possible on the morning of April 3 due to the arrival of more
tractor-trailers from Central and Eastern Europe, again towards
Venice. (ANSA).
