at the Igarape Park, in Belem, state of Para, Brazil, 06 August
2023. The park serves as accommodation for the indigenous
communities visiting the city for the Amazon Dialogues, a
three-day event held from 04 to 06 August, during which
representatives from different sectors of society debated the
future of the Amazon biome. The conclusions from the Amazon
Dialogues will be presented to the leaders of the countries of
the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (OTCA), who will
gather in the capital of Para state on 08 and 09 August for a
summit. The Amazon Dialogues seek the recognition and protection
of the uncontacted tribes, estimated to be 185 distributed
throughout the largest tropical forest on the planet.
