the forest fire extinguishing program of the Brazilian Institute
of Environment (IBAMA) and ICMbio (Chico Mendes Institute), work
to contain a fire in a green area of BR-319, in the municipality
of Careiro, Amazonas, Brazil, 21 October 2023 (issued 22 October
2023). A large number of fires occur along the highway during
the dry season. This year, the State of Amazonas broke the
record for fires in the months of September and October since
