Pakistan, volontari piantano mangrovie lungo la costa

(ANSA) - ROMA, 04 GIU - Volunteers of Hamdam foundation plant mangroves on the coastal line in Badin, Pakistan, 04 June 2024.
    The Hamdam Foundation has launched the Surami Project, planting one hundred thousand mangrove trees on the coast of Badin to combat environmental issues. In the first phase, 20,000 mangrove seeds were planted near Sada Behar Nari Lake, with significant participation from local social workers. Shaukat Soomro, head of the foundation, highlighted the urgent need for mangrove forests to curb sea encroachment, support marine life, and protect the coastal area from storms and erosion. Pakistan is among the world's top 10 countries most affected by climate change.
