Yaroun, southern Lebanon, 21 June 2024. St.
According to local residence in the village, the church was
affected by several Israeli artillery shelling, the last of
which was 10 days ago, leaving the building severely damaged.
Yaroun lies on the Israeli-Lebanese border, overlooking Dovev
and Avivim on the Israeli side. Yaron is a mixed
Christian-Muslim town that, until the 1950s, had a Christian
majority before the majority became Islamic (Shiite). Now,
Christian residents abandoned the town to safer neighboring
villages, and only Muslim families remained. (ANSA).
