Five cases of polio have been recorded in Kandahar, Nuristan, Herat, and Ghazni provinces since the beginning of the current solar year. The Afghanistan Polio Eradication Initiative has announced the launch of a vaccination campaign in several provinces, emphasizing the ongoing challenges in eradicating the disease in the country.
    Afghanistan and Pakistan remain the only two countries in the world where polio has not been eradicated among children, highlighting the critical importance of vaccination campaigns and cross-border cooperation to prevent its spread.
