(ANSA) - ROMA, 05 SET - Bank customers and protesters carry

September 2024. According to Lebanon's state-run news agency
(NNA), Lebanese Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation in
Lebanon, Judge Jamal Hajjar, arrested the former Governor of the
Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, after a hearing on 03
September about the central bank's dealings with 'Optimum
Invest', a Lebanese firm that offers income brokerage services.
Riad Salameh, 73, served as governor of the central bank of
Lebanon for 30 years until July 2023. (ANSA).
