Leonardo da Vinci's Benois Madonna
is returning to Italy for two months for the 500th anniversary
of the artist's death.
The painting, whose completion is dated to between 1478 and
1480, is being loaned from the Hermitage Museum in St.
Petersburg, 35 years since the only other time the work went on
display in Italy.
Also known as Madonna with Child and Flowers, the painting
will be on display at the Pinacoteca Civica art gallery in
Fabriano from June 1-30 and then for another month in Perugia.
