Italian music journalist Ernesto
Assante died Monday night just two weeks after his 66th
birthday.
Born in Naples in 1958, after working with leftist daily il
manifesto he began writing for left-leaning newspaper la
Repubblica, where he was correspondent until 2021 and
responsible for the supplements Musica, Computer Valley and
Computer, Internet and Altro.
In TV work, he had been a consultant and author of numerous
programmes, including the Sanremo Song Festival, Italy's premier
showbiz event.
