Inter's Francesco Acerbi has denied
uttering a racial slur against Napoli's Juan Jesus in a 1-1 draw
at the san Siro Sunday night but attention is needed on racism,
Italy coach Luciano Spalletti said in explaining why the
Nerazzurri defender was dropped from the Italy squad travelling
to the US this week for friendlies against Venezuela and
Ecuador.
"It is a huge regret to take decisions for these episodes here.
But we have to be careful, even when we denounce such an
episode", said the former Roma and Napoli coach.
"We saw Francesco in trouble, but we have to be careful with our
behaviour, we have responsibilities," he added.
He continued: "From what Acerbi told me, it is not an episode of
racism".
Asked if he had heard from Juan Jesus, he replied: "He's not
answering, his phone is switched off".
