Deputy Premier and Transport Minister
Matteo Salvini said in a note on Saturday that he was ready "to
intervene to help citizens" regarding 15 strikes called for the
month of December, including a general strike on the 13th,
speaking a day after a general strike proclaimed by the CGIL and
UIl unions against the 2025 budget.
The strike lasted eight hours or the entire work shift for all
public and private sectors, with the exception of transport
where it was reduced to 4 hours, in particular for local public
transport, air transport and maritime transport, based on a
back-to-work ordinance signed by Salvini.
"I am satisfied to have guaranteed, yesterday, the right to use
public transport to millions of Italians.
"My commitment remains unchanged ahead of December, when 15
strikes have already been proclaimed, including a general one
scheduled on the 13th, coincidentally a Friday, a few days ahead
of Christmas.
"I am ready to intervene again, to help citizens", the minister
stressed in the note.
