Four young men were arrested Friday
on suspicion of gay bashing in Terracina , a coastal resort
south of Rome, in August.
The men allegedly surrounded a young man in a bar there and
hurled homophobic insults at him before beating him up, police
said.
All four were from nearby Fondi and had criminal records, police
said.
Footage from the bar's surveillance camera was used to catch
them.
The victim was having breakfast when five men, of whom one has
yet to be identified, came up to him and kicked and punched him
in the head and body, also using a metal ashtray to hit him
with.
The young man suffered concussion, cuts to the head and multiple
bruises.
The four have been charged with grievous bodily harm.
Police are looking for the fifth man.
