Ambassador Carlo Formosa took part today in the commemoration of the victims of the Holodomor, the genocide by starvation perpetrated in Ukraine by the Soviet regime.
Recalling "the extermination by starvation of more than 6 million dead in Ukraine between 1932 and 1933, ordered by Stalin", Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani turned his thoughts today to "that genocide and the ongoing war afflicting that country".
