The Senate on Wednesday approved the
establishment of a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the
management, and alleged mismanagement, of the COVID epidemic in
Italy.
The Senate Chamber gave the green light to the bill setting up a
parliamentary commission of enquiry into the management of the
health emergency caused by the epidemic spread of the SARS-CoV-2
virus and the measures taken to prevent and deal with the
SARS-CoV-2 epidemiological emergency.
There were 94 votes in favour, 64 against, no abstentions. The
measure, already approved by the Chamber of Deputies, will
return to the Lower House at Montecitorio because there were
changes in the Social Affairs Committee, while in the Chamber
the amendments were all rejected.
