Daily newspaper la Repubblica's
correspondent in Ukraine was shot and injured Wednesday while
his Ukrainian fixer and interpreter was shot dead.
Reporter Corrado Zunino tweeted: "Travelling from Kherson to
Odesa. I'm well, I've got a wound in my right shoulder, shaved
by the bullet that hit my great friend Bogdan (Bitik).
"I think he's dead, at the beginning of the Kherson Bridge. An
infinite pain. I had a vest on with Press written on it".
Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Zunino had been hurt in a
Russian drone attack but "he is well and is being followed by
our embassy in Kyiv".
He said he had voiced solidarity to la Repubblica editor
Maurizio Molinari.
