(ANSA) - BELGRADE - Ten central and southeastern European countries, along with the EU, agreed in Vienna today to strengthen cooperation in the fight against jihadism, while ensuring better training for authorities and border guards.

''We need a comprehensive strategy that goes beyond the mere judicial sphere'', Austrian Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner said. Along with Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, Mrs Mikl-Leitner organized a conference which was attended by Interior and Foreign ministers from the Western Balkans, and by EU commissioner for home affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos.

Among other things, today's agreement provides the strengthening of cooperation with Europol, Frontex and the coordinators of EU counter-terrorism. (ANSA).
