(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 17 - Slovenian President Borut Pahor
emphasised the significance of dialogue about EU enlargement to
the Western Balkans during his participation in the Prespa Forum
Dialogue in Ohrid, North Macedonia, on Thursday, according to
the Slovenian news agency STA. Speaking at the event's main
panel, which runs till Saturday, Pahor presented a letter he
submitted to EU Council President Charles Michel, advocating for
Bosnia and Herzegovina to be awarded EU candidate status without
first meeting prerequisites. According to a press release from
the president's office, Pahor believes this will bolster pro-EU
forces in the country and accelerate Bosnia's dynamic in
adhering to European values. Accelerating the Western Balkans
enlargement process would have a substantial impact on security,
stability, and prosperity in the area, according to the
president, who urged Bulgaria to quit blocking EU-North
Macedonia accession negotiations. (ANSA).
