The Italian Islamic community has
condemned Friday's sermon at a mosque in Birmingham, England, in
which an imam described in detail how to stone to death women
for committing adultery.
In a statement, the Italian Islamic Religious Community (COREIA)
said it "firmly condemned" the Birmingham imam and his "brutal
technical description of a female stoning for adultery during
Friday's prayers".
COREIS descibed as "puerile" the imam's trying to justify the
sermon by saying his words on female adultery and its rightful
punishment according to the Koran had been taken out of context.
