European Commission
President Jean-Claude Juncker said Thursday Italy "can't
complain" about recent remarks he made in an interview with
Avvenire newspaper about possible "unpleasant consequences" for
France and Italy. "If there is someone who can't complain it's
Italy," Juncker said. The Commission dealt with France and Italy
in a "political and non-bureaucratic way", he added. The EU
Stability and Growth Pact "has never been applied in a more
flexible way," he said.
