Italy and Greece must act as soon as possible to open migrant registration centres, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Monday.
"We have established with the heads of government that there should be registration centres in the countries particularly hit by the first arrivals, like Greece and Italy," she said after a summit with French President Francois Hollande.
"This must happen quickly, by the
end of the year, we cannot accept delays," she said.
