The number of unemployed who
are not actively looking for work and are discouraged fell by
114,000 in the second quarter of 2015 over the same period last
year, the national statistics agency Istat said Tuesday.
The drop was most significant in southern regions and among
people aged 15-34, Istat added.
The number of unemployed who are not actively searching for
work for academic reasons rose by 77,000 over the same period,
Istat said.
