Milan-based Edison SpA, Greek public gas company DEPA, and Russian gas giant Gazprom have signed a memorandum of understanding on "gas supplies from Russia through the Black Sea to Greece and Italy", the companies said in a statement Wednesday. This would entail building a gas pipeline between Greece and Italy, opening up a new route for natural gas supplies.
