Italy should leave the European Union before it destroys it, the leader of the rightwing UK Independence Party (UKIP) told ANSA on Thursday. "Do I have a message for Italy?" MEP Nigel Farage said at the Republican Party convention in Cleveland, Ohio, where he arrived as a guest today. "Yes, I do: leave Europe or you will destroy it".
Asked how he gets along with fellow MEPs from Italy, Farage said "very well".
"I still work with Beppe's group," he said in reference to anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) chief Beppe Grillo. "Our agenda is slightly different, but we're in the same caucus".
The M5S is currently the second-largest party in Italy after Premier Matteo Renzi's center-left Democratic Party (PD).
