Italian quake victims as pasta dishes " does not absolutely
represent the position of France,", the French embassy in Rome
said Friday. Calling the quake that killed 293 an "immense
tragedy", it said "France has expressed its sincere condolences
to the Italian authorities and people and has offered its help.
We are close to Italy in this difficult trial". The Charlie
Hebdo cartoons have spurred widespread indignation.
