The Valpolicella 50th Anniversary
Tour is about to kick off.
The internationalization activities of the consortium are set
to begin on October 10 in Vancouver and later make stops in
Chicago, Washington D.C. and Zurich.
Canada is a strategic market for Valpolicella wines that in
2017 accounted for 25% of total Valpolicella exports, 17% of
Valpolicella Ripasso and 6% of Amarone.
Among the activities planned in Vancouver is a "walk around
tasting" and a media dinner held in collaboration with Town Hall
Brands and Consorzio Tutela Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco
Superiore DOCG, with the support of the Italian consulate in the
city.
On the same day there will be a competition for those working
in the sector that will give the possibility to the winner to
gain access to the second edition of the Valpolicella Education
Program.
The program is course for certification of Valpolicella wines
and territory to train new experts that will be held in Verona
January 29-31, 2019.
The Valpolicella 50th Anniversary Tour will continue in the
US October 15-17 in Chicago, where wine tastings and
institutional meetings will be held.
The international activities of the consortium for the tour
will end in Zurich, Switzerland, on October 29 at Metropol. A
"walk around tasting" will be held in collaboration with Vinum,
a top wine magazine for readers in Germany, Austria and
Switzerland and the Consorzio Tutela Conegliano Valdobbiadene
Prosecco Superiore.
Two institutional masterclasses by Christian Eder, the
correspondent in Italy for Vinum, will also be held.
