Two 2.4-magnitude earthquakes
hit Etna overnight after the 4.8 magnitude tremor that left 28
hurt and 600 homeless on Christmas Day.
No damage was reported.
The first quake took place at 00:28 eight km east of
Zafferana Etnea; and the second at 05:50 eight km north of
Ragalna.
Meanwhile the 'Strombolian' activity at the new fractures on
Europe's highest active volcano continued after the recent
eruption that led to Catania's air space being closed.
