Italy's 2006 World Cup winning
centre-forward Luca Toni on Thursday said France, England and
Germany were favourites for Euro 2024, in that order.
In an interview with German daily Bild, the former Palermo,
Fiorentina, Bayern and Juve forward said about Italy's chances
that "despite winning Euro 2021, we don't start out as
favourites."
But he added: "back then something magical was born."
Toni went on: "There are teams that are better equipped for the
tournament and also stronger on paper.
"So it won't be easy for us".
He said that "getting to a semi-final would already be a great
success for the Azzurri".
