Alessandro Criscuolo was elected president of the Constitutional Court Wednesday with eight votes. He joins vice-presidents Marta Cartadia and Giorgio Lattanzi and will be a member of the court for the next three years. The 15-judge court is still short of members as Parliament has not yet elected a full slate of judges.
Criscuolo was first elected as a constitutional judge on October 28, 2008 and swore his oath of office on November 11 2008. His mandate will expire on November 11, 2017, making his tenure longer than those of some predecessors.
