Rome's A subway line was halted
Friday after Army soldiers called police over a suspicious
backpack at Cornelia station.
The police bomb squad and the canine unit are on the scene.
Circulation on the Ottaviano Battistini line was suspended.
This comes after a bomb scare on the same line earlier on
Friday and three on Thursday.
A box proved to be empty on inspection at the Ottaviano
station on the A line, near the Vatican.
Two scares came on the A line and one on the C line
Thursday.
As well, there was a false alarm at the Duomo stop on
Milan's metro, also Thursday.
Experts have said the scares are signs of heightened public
fears after the Paris terror attacks.
