Young Italians will be poorer
than their parents for the first time ever, research institute
Censis said on Friday.
The income of the so-called 'millennial generation' is 15.1%
lower than the national average, according to the 50th edition
of the annual Censis study on the social situation in Italy.
Further, the family wealth of under 35s is 41.2% below the
national average.
The income of young people today is 26.5% lower than that of
their counterparts 25 years ago.
This compares to an 8.3% drop in income across the entire
population over the same period, Censis said.
