Premier Giorgia Meloni said Wednesday she was "curious" about her first time at a La Scala premiere that night, when she will join dignitaries like President Sergio Mattarella and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and entertainment stars like actor Stefano Accorsi, director Luca Guadagnino and writer Alessandro Baricco for the first night performance of Boris Godunov at the iconic Milan opera house.
"I am intrigued.
It's my first time, certainly a good first
experience", said Meloni as she arrived at the Teatro alla
Scala.
Von der Leyen, for her part, told waiting reporters that "we
must not let Putin destroy this fantastic country (Russia) and
so I can't wait to see this work (by Russian composer Modest
Mussorgsky)"."
