First virtual meeting of the Italy-Canada Joint Working Group on Artificial Intelligence (Jag-Ai), set up as part of the Road Map between the two countries for enhanced cooperation announced by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Ottawa Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during the G7 summit in Borgo Egnazia. With this initiative, Italy and Canada intend to implement common priorities in artificial intelligence, in key sectors such as life sciences, transport and cybersecurity, promoting the design, development and adoption of secure and reliable AI solutions. The Jag-Ai, which builds on the excellent scientific collaboration between Italy and Canada, reflects the common drive for innovation and the shared commitment to tackle major global challenges with the help of artificial intelligence, to ensure a safer, more innovative and sustainable future. The Jag-Ai consists of 14 participants (7 from each country) and is co-chaired by the President of the CNR and the Canadian Prime Minister's scientific advisor.
