On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Italian Embassy in Tallinn has installed a red bench at the entrance to its premises, symbolising the fight against gender-based violence and remembrance for the victims.
Today, the Italian ambassador to Tallinn, Stefano Catani, illustrated the initiative, which was strongly supported by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and which envisages the installation of red benches in every Italian embassy in the world, to Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna.
Catani particularly emphasised the importance of international cooperation to combat discrimination and violence against women.
