The Italian Ambassador to Ecuador, Giovanni Davoli, inaugurated the 'Childhood and Rural Education' exhibition at the Alausí City Hall in the province of Chimborazo.
The initiative, financed by the Italian Embassy in Quito as an act of support for the scientific cooperation work that Italian universities carry out in Ecuador, was curated by the Italian Ethnological Mission in the Northern Andes, a research unit sponsored by the Farnesina and based at the University of Turin and the University of Roma Tre.
The exhibition is an innovative initiative as it allows the recovery and enhancement of the contents of a local archive, building a historical narrative 'from below'. For the occasion, the Ambassador was received by the mayor of Alausí, Remigio Roldán, with whom he discussed the efforts of international cooperation in the area after last year's landslides that caused serious losses, both human and material.
