Deputy Premier and Interior
Minister Matteo Salvini said Monday on his Euroskeptic League
party's plans for the European elections: "change (it) from
within: give back blood to the veins of a Europe which has
become sclerotic, which for decades has been administered by the
same formations and the same faces".
He said "our goal is to enter into these institutions to give
back new life to a very beautiful dream," the "European
project".
He added: "Ask the Greeks, as the French in these days or
Italian and Spanish unemployed what this dream has turned into".
Salvini's anti-migrant League is allied with other
Euroskeptic and nationalistic forces like Marine Le Pen's
far-right National Rally (previously National Front) party.
