The government on Thursday put off a May 29 referendum on cutting the number of Italian MPs until further notice due to the coronavirus emergency.
In the referendum, Italians will be asked to approve cutting the number of MPs from 945 to 600.
The Constitutional reform referendum was recently given the green light.
The law would cut Italy's parliamentarians from 945 to 600, with Lower House seats going from 630 to 400 and those in the Senate from 315 to 200.
