Premier Giorgia Meloni's right-wing
Brothers of Italy (FdI) party is set to come first in Italy in
the European elections with 26-30% of the vote, according to a
Consorzio Opinio Italia exit poll for Rai television.
The opposition centre-left Democratic Party (PD) is set to come
second with 21-25% and the opposition 5-Star Movement (M5S)
third with 10-14%, according to the poll.
Within the ruling centre-right alliance, the poll puts Foreign
Minister Antonio Tajani's Forza Italia (FI) on 8.5-10.5%, just
ahead of Transport Minister Matteo Salvini's League on 8-10%.
The Green-Left Alliance (AVS) was between 5% and 7%, above the
threshold of 4% to get MEPs elected.
The centrist SUE group was between 3.5% and 5.5% with former
industry minister's Carlo Calenda's Azione between 2.5% and
4.5%.
