Massimiliano Fedriga, the
centre-right governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, is Italy's most
popular regional governor with an approval rating of 68%,
according to the 2024 Governance Poll conducted by the Noto
Institute for financial daily Il Sole 24 Ore.
Fedriga leapfrogged both Emilia-Romagna's Stefano Bonaccini, who
came top last year, and Veneto's Luca Zaia, who have approval
ratings of 67% and 66% respectively.
Parma Mayor Michele Guerra came top of the ranking for the first
citizens of Italy's major cities with an approval rating of 63%.
He came in front of Naples Mayor Manfredi (62%) and Ravenna
Michele De Pascale (61%) in an all centre-left podium.
The mayors of Italy's biggest cities fared badly.
Milan's Beppe Sala dropped for first place in 2023 to 19th this
year, while Turin's Stefano Lo Russo ranked 57th and Rome Mayor
Roberto Gualtieri came second-from-last along with Palermo's
Roberto Lagalla.
