The government has accounted for the
possibility that Italy's GDP growth will not be as strong as
expected when drafting its budget policies, Economy Minister
Giancarlo Giorgetti said in relation to the recent slowdown.
"We factored in the less favourable scenario too and, therefore,
the public finance forecasts will not change," he said at the
inauguration of his League party's new headquarters in Assisi
when asked about national statistics agency Istat saying Italy's
GDP was flat in the third quarter with respect to the previous
three months.
"The issue of growth is important, we hope that there will be a
recovery in the last quarter.
"But it does not change the government's strategy. We already
said this a month ago and we reiterate it now".
