A referendum to abolish the whole of
the government's 'differentiated autonomy' reform is going
forward despite the Constitutional Court's ruling that seven out
of its 50 measures are unconstitutional, CGIL leader Maurizo
Landini said Sunday, announcing that Italy's biggest and most
left-wing union had so far collected some 1.3 million signatures
against a reform he said worsens the north.-south gap.
"The signatures collected for the referendum against the law on
differentiated autonomy ask to cancel the entire law, not just
some parts and our battle continues", Landini said in an
interview with journalist Maria Latella on Radio24.
"The ruling of the Constitutional Court, whose reasons will have
to be read, confirms our reasons.
"It is a law that divides the country and is wrong.
"We have collected one million and 300 thousand signatures to
completely repeal it and we want to cancel the entire text, not
just some points".
