Asthma specialists say that new
therapies are coming for the 6% of the Italian population hit by
the lung disease.
Information on innovative new drugs has been promised from
the national congress of the Italian Society of Allergy, Asthma
and Clinic Immunology (Siaaic) meeting this week in Bologna.
Specialists say the goal is to treat the disease with lower
doses of drugs, fewer side effects but greater overall effects.
That involves better treatments for the allergies and
immune system attacks that underlie asthma.
