The Italian 'Tat' therapeutic
vaccine against HIV-AIDS pioneered by Barbara Ensoli at the
Superior Institute of Health has been shown to increase the
effectiveness of anti-retroviral drugs in patients with the
virus and to stimulate the immune system, according to results
of a second phase of experiments published in the journal
Retrovirology.
Ensoli said the results "open up new interesting scenarios".
