The EU on Wednesday reached a
deal on higher levels of tolerance for car emissions tests in
the wake of the Volkswagen scandal. The 28 members voted in
favour except the Netherlands, which voted against, and the
Czech Republic, which abstained. The deal set higher levels for
emissions than more stringent lower ones requested by the
European Commission, EU sources told ANSA. Volkswagen was caught
cheating on US emissions tests and had to recall millions of
vehicles.
