Top Italian immunologist and former centre-right politician Fernando Aiuti died on Wednesday and police are not ruling out suicide, sources said.
Aiuti, 83, was being treated in Rome's Gemelli Hospital, they
said.
Rome prosecutors are investigating the death.
As well as being a world-renowned immunologist, Aiuti was
formerly a member of three-time premier and media magnate Silvio
Berlusconi's now defunct People of Freedom party.
