Catholic bishops preparing for the next synod on the family in October will be studying the "most sensitive issues" raised at the last meeting in October 2014, Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, synod secretary general, said Thursday. Those include gays in the Church, communion for divorced and remarried Catholics, and cohabitation outside marriage. Almost 200 bishops from around the world have been taking part in the meetings that came out of extensive surveys of Catholics on challenges facing families.
