Some 301 migrants landed Saturday in
five boats rescued at Lampedusa south of Sicily.
After the rescue of a 10-metre boat by the patrol boat Cp271,
125 Bangladeshis, Egyptians, Eritreans, Ethiopians, Pakistanis
and Syrians landed, including four women and five minors.
The group reported having set sail from Sabratah, Libya, after
paying between 5,500 and 7,000 euro.
In the meantime, the Guardia di Finanza tax police hooked up a
white rubber dinghy with 36 (2 women and 1 minor) Syrians,
Sudanese and Pakistanis on board, who had also set sail from
Libya.
