President Sergio Mattarella on
Syunday branded the Islamist knifeman attack that killed three
in Solingen, Germany, as a cowardly attack and voiced horror and
condolences over it.
"I wish to express the deep condolences of the Italian Republic
and my own personal condolences for the cowardly attack that has
bloodied the city of Solingen, arousing horror and profound
sadness," said the Italian head of State in a message to the
President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank Walter
Steinmeier.
Once again, a blind and unjustifiable act of violence has been
unleashed against defenceless civilians, bringing the threat of
terrorism, fostered by growing international instability, back
to the heart of Europe".
